Kenya Airways staff call off strike

www.ntv.co.ke The crippling two day strike by Kenya airways employees is over. The strike was called off this morning by The Aviation and Allied Workers Union following a nightlong meeting with the Kenya Airways management. A 20 per cent pay hike has been agreed on but this will be paid in two years. As part of the return to work formula all dismissal letters are to be withdrawn.

Puerto Ricans protest mass gov’t layoffs

Popular Democratic Party in Old San Jaun on Wednesday to protest the Fortuño administration’s public policy of reducing the size of the government through layoffs. Atwoli addresses KQ employees

Kenya Airways staff if the airlines management fails to come up with a realistic pay package. COTU secretary general Francis Atwoli said the 6% pay increment given to KQ staff was inadequate. Atwoli also demanded the withdrawal of all dismissal letters dispatched to some employees saying the strike was legal.
