If you are indicted (not sure about the word, I mean put under arrest to respond to a judicial system), it is because you are suspected. Suspected, guilty, the gap between the two is small for people who put you under arrest.
You can murder someone and not be put under arrest because people around you dont consider it necessary. In this case, you dont need rights, you are innocent.

  7. MarkBH70 says:

Right, innocent people already have rights.

  8. MarkBH70 says:

I did not say I controled my ‘innocent status’.

  12. TheCZMan says:

So yes, I would say that innocent people have no need of rights. Innocent means here that people have nothing to reproach you with. It is just a group perception. You can be a murderer but if the police(or others) determine this murder is nothing to reproach you with, you are innocent in their eyes and do not need rights.
Reversely, if others decide that your coughing is something to reproach you with, that you are guilty of coughing, then you need rights.

  13. TheCZMan says:

A bit flawed imo. As soon as you are not the one determining what you are reproached with, it is hard to claim that you control your innocent status.
People can always find something to reproach you with, voiding de facto your innocent status.
Nobody is innocent in the eyes of others.
Others can wish to prosecute you on any terms possible. Maybe you get up from bed on the left foot and suddenly, it might become something to reproach you with, making you no longer innocent.

Any human production starts with consumption of the Earth. If you want to see in economics a “theory” (which I dont), then economics is the theory of how to consume Earth the fastest possible.

  15. wetalmorker says:

If you’re speaking of “consumerism” and the resultant exploitation of natural resources, I understand completely. To me, economic policy is more a philosophy than a metric. The Dow is a metric, economics is theory, imho.

BTW, I didn’t down-rate your reply. That was someone else.

I’ve been planning a tobacco section to my garden that won’t take away from food production.

  20. MarkBH70 says:

Also, quite frankly,… I was just checking.

To be honest, when you say an innocent person, as the police do, has nothing to be afraid of because they’re innocent, implying this very principle, that if you’re innocent, you don’t need rights, people are appalled.

However, if you innumerate the ‘rights’ of the government, give a ‘reason,’ then people practically are all for it. In fact people are against the innocent not needing rights, but also practically against reasonable freedoms, rights.

  21. MarkBH70 says:

Sometimes when people are particularly focused personalities, or particularly busy, as you seem to be, they’ll miss sarcasm — I’ve done it myself. Yes, that is sarcasm. Maybe it was a little too subtle.

I hear this crap often enough — and firmly believe that we in The U.S. have already given up so many rights for so long, that people generally consider it the ‘right’ of the government. And normal. When the government removes freedoms or fails to prosecute crimes, it is negligent, as it is now

  22. TheCZMan says:

Interesting pick on pensioners. I told months ago to keep an eye on pensioners. They are going to be the ones who will start the new wave of colonialism: as living in western world will be out of their means, they are going to sell off their assets and settle down in poor countries, buying villas and stuff like that with the money.
This of course will not go without consequences. Thais, africans are going to be the new Indians of this era.

  23. TheCZMan says:

Since economics is a measurement of consumption of the Earth by human activity, you can include all your schools of economics in your little example: keynesian, friedmanian, misesian etc…

  24. mconn2112 says:

    Wild baby wild! LOL!

  25. FeverIAm says:

I hope that is sarcasm, because last time I checked – rights are there to protect the innocent… not the guilty.
